...I think they a great company to work for, I hope I can fulfill my working career with them. The staff are friendly, caring, and very supportive. The other Foster Carers are very friendly also… I am very happy with this company and wouldn’t like to be anywhere else!
Time for Children is an established and progressive organisation committed to delivering a high quality service to children, young people, foster carers and local authorities. We work in partnership with many local authorities through contracting and individual agreements to offer a wide range of fostering placements for children and young people to meet their individual needs.
Time for Children provides fostering placements for children and young people who will have experienced trauma in their lives, either through neglect, physical injury, emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse. We acknowledge that these young people are often overwhelmed by these events and are unable to find appropriate ways of dealing with them, which will inevitably present a wide range of behaviours.
At Time for Children we acknowledge that, along with these more challenging behaviours, every young person will also have acquired many skills and strengths which have enabled them to survive their experiences thus far. Whilst we do not believe that it is the child’s responsibility to solve the problem, it is our aim to assist them in building on these strengths and skills to find acceptable solutions to their own particular circumstances.
If you decide to become a foster carer for us we will aim to equip you with the appropriate skills and training to work with the child in such a way that it facilitates joint growth and solutions which will eventually enable young people to return home successfully, move on to a more permanent placement, or achieve independent living; whichever is in accordance with their Care Plan.
Time for Children provides, through a flexible, caring and imaginative foster care service, an opportunity for all our children and young people to become valued members of tomorrow’s society.
Looked after children represent the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our community. At TIme for Children it is our objective to provide support and conditions in which these most vulnerable young people can thrive and achieve a positive outcome from their time spent in foster care. There is much work to be done to redress the disadvantages these children have experienced and little time to do this before they become independent young adults. For many children a positive outcome may be a return to their parents or extended family. Maintaining contact and working with genuine respect for the child’s family is crucial for keeping these options available. Other children may succeed best in long term alternative families including permanent foster care placements.
TIme for Children can provide a wide range of foster care placements and professional support services providing specific packages of care to meet the needs of individual children and young people. These services are delivered by qualified and experienced social work staff and foster carers who are valued as full members of our professional team.
As an existing foster carer it is important that you work with a company that is able to fully support both the children and foster carers. A lot of carers from Local Authorities and other Agencies come to us and feel that there could be more done for themselves and the looked after children.
Futures for Children are committed to providing our foster carers with a support service that is accessible and effective. Foster Carers within the organisation can expect:
